Background

Our client, a renowned dairy brand located in Rajasthan, produces milk, fresh cream, cheese, and organic blend dairy products. The production and packaging processes generate significant amounts of wastewater characterized by high levels of solids and fats. Dairy effluent typically exhibits elevated BOD, COD, and fat content, which can inhibit biological treatment processes, leading to inefficient treatment and increased environmental pollution.

Solution

To address these challenges, we implemented a tailored combination of physical, chemical, and biological treatment processes. Our innovative approach utilized a Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) for anaerobic treatment, specifically designed to handle high solids and fats in dairy wastewater. The CSTR effectively treats wastewater with high fats, oils, and grease (FOG) while also generating renewable energy, aligning with both environmental and economic goals.

Key features of our solution included

  1. CSTR-Based Anaerobic Technology: A superior alternative to conventional sludge blanket reactors.
  2. Advanced German Ejector System: Ensures complete mixing and prevents clogging.
  3. Odour Control System: Effectively manages any unpleasant odours.
  4. Efficient Sludge Management System: Streamlines waste handling and disposal.

This integrated solution not only addresses the specific characteristics of dairy effluent but also contributes to the client’s sustainability efforts, enhancing both environmental performance and operational efficiency.
